A day for the whole Christian community to discover more about fresh expressions of church.
vision days are opportunities for the whole Christian community to discover more about fresh expressions of church.
Many of those who have taken part in these days have been envisioned and equipped to further develop their dreams.
- dream dreams
- ask questions
- share your story
- think about what it is to be church
- find out about fresh expressions
- discover resources
- build networks and relationships

changing minds, changing church
Six weeks to rediscover mission and re-imagine church.
New world, new church? Our world and our lives have changed radically in the last twenty years, but has the church adapted to this change? Do we need a changed church for a changing world? Are new forms of church really possible? If so, how can they be developed?
The aim of this course is to explore the ‘why’ of creating fresh expressions of church rather than the ‘how’. The six week course takes us on a journey looking at the ever-changing nature of our social communities, and why the church needs to rethink its approach to those communities in meaningful and relevant ways.
The course is designed to present those changes in an informative and interactive way, and is suitable for both clergy and lay alike of any denomination. The ninety minute to two hour interactive sessions are delivered through verbal presentation, powerpoints, movie clips and stories with group participation.

“The entire leadership team from our church, The Living Room, attended Mission Shaped Intro. Although our church is already quite missional, MSI helped us advance the dialog regarding our expression of church. It also helped us face some old paradigms we weren’t even aware we had. Whether you’re part of an established traditional church or part of a new emerging church, Mission Shaped Intro will help you rethink and reach out in fresh ways.” Michael Jones, Lead Pastor, The Living Room, Montreal, QC

The Fresh Expressions eight-month mission shaped ministry course has been running ecumenically in over fifty across the UK since its launch in September 2006, and the first Canadian course concluded recently.
The aim of the course is to prepare individuals and teams of any denomination for planning and implementing fresh expressions of church.
- We envisage that people will come as individuals or as teams.
- We hope that many will begin the course as they are preparing to embark on a fresh expression of church, but that others would come at a later or earlier stage in these ministries.
- We hope that many clergy will take part in the course (as these elements have not traditionally been part of clergy training) alongside many lay people.
